Bree's Review:
This game is a 3D action-adventure featuring Mario and his new ally, Cappy, as they traverse various kingdoms with unique themes, such as lands filled with mysterious caps, grassy areas hosting a massive dinosaur, and sandy desert realms with an inverted pyramid, all to rescue Princess Peach and Cappy’s sister, Tiara. Mario can transform into numerous enemies and objects with Cappy's assistance, becoming anything from frogs to cactuses, and even the previously mentioned giant dinosaur. To progress through the game, players need to collect Power Moons scattered across the kingdoms and can also gather purple coins to acquire various costumes and collectibles. The game’s difficulty is influenced by the level of exploration players engage in, including challenging underworlds and difficult platforming sections that are made easier with Cappy’s help. Navigation and strategy are key, as figuring out routes to collect Moons can be tough, with some particularly time-consuming challenges, such as achieving 100 jumps in a jump rope challenge or mastering areas requiring precise control of Cappy. The game also offers rewards for collecting all the Moons. Visually striking and featuring innovative platforming mechanics that adapt to diverse environments, this game provides a rich, engaging experience. It's especially enjoyable for platforming enthusiasts and Mario fans, offering excellent replayability through its extensive collectible system.
