Bree's Review:
Set four years before the events of Life is Strange, this game centers on 16-year-old Chloe Price and her relationship with her schoolmate Rachel Amber. Chloe possesses the ability to use "backtalk" to navigate tricky situations, although this can sometimes worsen interactions. Like the original Life is Strange, players can choose from various dialogue options. At certain points, Chloe can engage with her environment, such as tagging a wall with graffiti or exploring different areas, to express her thoughts about those moments. The game consists of three main chapters, and there is a bonus episode exclusive to the Deluxe and boxed editions. This episode delves into Chloe's younger years and her relationship with Max, the protagonist from Life is Strange. I enjoyed the backstory this game provides on Chloe and Rachel, who plays a mysteriously pivotal role in the first game. While I found the backtalk mechanic could be confusing and inconsistent, overall, the narrative is compelling. It’s a great pick for fans of the Life is Strange series and those who enjoy dialogue-driven games.
