Bree's Review:
In "Life is Strange," you follow 18-year-old Max Caulfield, who discovers her ability to rewind time after foreseeing a tornado destroy her hometown and rescuing a woman who turns out to be her long-lost best friend. Spread across five chapters, the game lets you manipulate events through Max’s time-traveling powers, creating a ripple effect with every decision. This mechanic not only impacts dialogue and relationships but also helps in solving puzzles and advancing through the story by altering environments and tackling fetch quests.
The game excels in providing numerous dialogue options, allowing players to explore the consequences of their choices, which can range from forging stronger relationships to saving lives. The consistent environment and character development throughout the game enhance the narrative's depth, adding a sense of familiarity and suspense as the story unfolds and secrets are revealed.
However, while some choices significantly impact the game, others seem less consequential, leaving some storylines feeling rushed or incomplete. Despite these flaws, "Life is Strange" captivates with its choice-driven gameplay and engaging story. If you're a fan of narrative games that let you shape the story, this game is definitely worth your time.
